When I found what looked like a bed bug near my bed, my family was skeptical. I had been suffering from mysterious allergic reactions to a bug bite for a long time, but no one else in the family had any symptoms. IdentifyUS gave me a quick, efficient, and affordable way to directly access an entomologist. Within a couple of days, I had a positive response. That is wonderful! Thank you for this great news. I panicked when I was awoken by its crawling on my neck at 4am and assumed it was a bed bug. But as I calmed down by 6 am and looked closer, I didn't think it looked like the pictures I have seen of bedbugs and thought it was sort of beautiful. So funny that there it was looking up at you! Over the past few months, I have been working closely with an exterminator; but having direct access to an entomologist has proven invaluable. While extermination fees run at thousands of dollars, getting quick expert identification for an affordable fee is an important tool to use before embarking on a lengthy extermination process. (NY)

Thank you for your very prompt reply. Today was linen laundry day and I discovered what looked like fuzz on the mattress pad, which upon closer inspection, was moving! It looked like a black apple seed. I found some debris but no brown or red marks of any kind on the mattress. I found one more moving bug and a few dead ones on the box spring. Given the location, I feared bed bugs! After a quick internet search, we were unsure. My much-more-logical-and-calm husband said he did not think it was a bed bug - seemed too tall and thin and dark and we have had no bites or signs of blood/feces. I am glad to get a confirmation.
